Graduating with a master’s degree in architecture from Brussels, Régis – a dancer at heart – is a multidisciplinary researcher, writer, and visual designer wandering between the creative realms of architecture, photography, writing and dance. His personal practice frequently explores the concept of temporality as a discursive and creative tool to re-enchant matters of education, progress and collectivity.
A proponent defender of heritage both as a cultural discipline and intellectual practice amidst an unprecedented social identity crisis, Régis started a second master’s degree in Berlin specializing in this field. He devoted much of his time to studying queer culture, focusing on its social practices of transgression and resistance to normative structures and their various architectural spaces as gender’s experimentation and retirement for self-creation, while heritage acts as an anchor point.
After waving around the world, tasting the richness of different languages while realizing what the presence at home had become unrecognizable, Régis decided in 2020 to come back to Brussels, while keeping one foot in Berlin and the other one in Lisbon, his beloved cities. After 3 years of professional experiences in architecture, he decided to focus his full time on his artistic projects in photography, dance and writing in Portugal where he explored different searches for transcendence and therapeutical dimension around spiritual awakening and healing processes after traumatic events.
Through his life of writing poetry and pictures, his travels and his dreams of encounters, he has never ceased to dance, stay close to nature and practice yoga and meditation which he believes are great sources of inspiration and personal-growth.
