In 2017, the think-tank Stadslab - European Urban Design Laboratory - has been invited to Tbilisi to analyze the impact of recent urban interventions on courtyards' fragile environment.

What development of the adjacent courtyards is desirable? Is the conservation of the existing social configuration of the courtyards still a realistic scenario? The economic effect of the privatisation of public space in Agmashenebeli street seems already too strong, in terms of rising land value and rental prices. The question is rather, if those elements, which are part of the architectural heritage may be carefully restored or otherwise would be lost.
