The project takes place in the center of Portugal near Figueira da Foz at the sea shore in a salt marshes landscape where a new museum dedicated to this previous salty economy was proposed.
This museum integrates itself in the landscape by its concave shape and its sloping roof. An harmony between the topography of the site and the roof’s inclination has been drawn. Inside, an open public space is generated with esplanades.
Inside of the building, the museum path is generated by various rooms at a different level embracing the soft inclination. The museum is covered by slates for its natural state, its resistance and its aesthetic.
